Displays of antique pottery, stonework, food and fireworks await tourists to Danang City 
A series of cultural festivals and events will welcome visitors to central coastal Danang city, the host of this week’s international fireworks competition.
From March 27 to April 5 a collection of ancient Go Sanh pottery made by the Cham ethnic group during the 13th to 15th centuries will be on show.
The 100 pottery items in the display are part of an antique pottery collection owned by Go Sanh Vijaya Champ Binh Dinh Pottery Museum Director Nguyen Vinh Hao.
Visitors to the city will also be welcomed by a variety of stone sculptures along the banks of the Han River, the venue of the fireworks competition.
More than 20 lanterns will make up “The variation of colors” display at the Danang Water Park
The lanterns, created by 23 Chinese artisans, are made of 13,000 square meters of silk, embroidered fabric, 10,000 meter of electrical wire and 4,000 light bulbs.
The highlight of the display is a 25-meter-high group of lanterns in the shape of the Goddess of Mercy.
The display of Chinese lanterns, from March 25 to April 25, will be accompanied by magic shows and martial arts performances.
Visitors to the city will also enjoy a wide variety of food and beverages from Vietnam and around the world at a food festival, as well as performances by Indian band Something Relevant.
Some 20,000 lanterns will float down the Han River prior to the opening ceremony of the fireworks competition on March 27.
